Thank you for choosing Sweet Maasai Explorers! This guide explains our tipping policy to help you show appreciation for your safari team.
Tipping is a way to show gratitude for excellent service provided by our guides, drivers, and support staff. It motivates our team to continue delivering memorable safari experiences.
While tipping is at your discretion, we recommend approximately $10–$20 USD per day for guides and $5–$10 USD per day for drivers. You may adjust based on your experience.
For group safaris, it is common to pool tips and present them to the team leader, who will distribute them fairly among all team members.
Tips are appreciated in US Dollars or Tanzanian Shillings. We recommend placing cash tips in an envelope and handing them directly to your guide or camp manager.
While tipping is not mandatory in East Africa, it is deeply appreciated and warmly received. It helps support local communities and families.
We may update our tipping guidelines from time to time. Please check this page before your safari for the latest recommendations.
